Spectrum Birthing Unit Tour

Sponsor: Spectrum

Business Case / Problem: Having a baby is an exciting and stressful time in anyone’s life. Currently, Spectrum Health offers in-person tours through the birthing ward so expecting moms and dads can get familiar with the environment ahead of the time when they actually come in. To help open the scope and reach of this program, Spectrum is looking to develop an XR experience that parents can use at home and be a tool when they arrive so logistics are an issue and they can focus on the joy of the day.

Goal: Create a VR tour of the facility that can be mailed with cardboard to expecting parents.

Tools: Insta 360 Camera, 3D Vista, Adobe Suite (Ps, Ae, Pr)

Nutrilite XR Facility Tour

Sponsor: Amway/Nutrilite

Business Case / Problem: Since Covid, Amway has struggled for a way to showcase their building dedicated to their Nutralite line of products.

Goal: Delight guests with a memorable opportunity to engage with Amway– virtually (phase 1) and in-person (phase 2). Support Amway staff providing tours to guests and guests touring on their own. Deliver distinct, informative content to a global audience unable to attend the facility in person.

Outcome: Students contributed to conceptualization of approach and of navigation of the environment. With the collaboration of Amway, Th3rd Coast team members, and students, we created a fully customizable & brandable web-based 360 Virtual “walk-through” of the facility, as well as an AR clone of the WebVR experience that can be used for in-person self-guided tours of the actual space. Users have the ability to interact with individual experiences like holograms for increased user experience.
